Mijenta Tequila and It Gets Better Partner to Celebrate Pride Month

To celebrate Pride Month, Mijenta, the award-winning, additive-free, B Corp certified tequila from the highlands of Jalisco, announced today that it is partnering with It Gets Better, the nonprofit organization dedicated to uplifting, empowering, and connecting LGBTQ+ youth through inspiring storytelling, educational resources, and access to an arsenal of community-based service providers.

From June 1 through June 30, Mijenta will run a campaign titled “Show Your Pride” that will allow consumers who purchase a cocktail or bottle at retail to donate to It Gets Better – either $8 for a bottle purchased at retail or $3 when purchasing a cocktail, with a guaranteed minimum contribution to It Gets Better of $5,000. Shoppers will also have the option to keep these respective amounts as a rebate (via Venmo or PayPal)*.

It Gets Better is the world's largest storytelling effort to empower LGBTQ+ youth, encouraging them to explore and define their own journey at their own pace in the comfort of community. In its role as a proactive prevention service, It Gets Better offers support to LGBTQ+ youth before they are in crisis. Storytelling is at the heart of these efforts, inspiring hope and sparking conversations to inform and positively influence their journey of self-discovery while nurturing their confidence and providing resources to help them navigate the world.

“Whether it’s among those who produce tequila in Mexico or come together to enjoy our tequila in markets around the world, fostering thriving communities is a vital part of Mijenta’s mission,” said Elise Som, Mijenta’s Co-Founder and Director of Sustainability. “We are inspired by the work of It Gets Better to build a positive, supportive network across the LGBTQ+ community and are thrilled to be able to collaborate with our distributors, suppliers, accounts and consumers to support their mission as we celebrate Pride Month.”

“We are always honored when a brand comes to us seeking new ways to champion community and support LGBTQ+ young people, especially in a time when allyship is so critical,” said Ross von Metzke, It Gets Better’s Senior Director of Communications and PR. “Thank you to Mijenta for prioritizing the well-being of LGBTQ+ youth this Pride season.”
